El Cuco Projekt operates with self-created, naturalistic animal masks on whimsical dance performances. With this bizarre aesthetic, we open up new spaces beyond the Anthropocene and Western beliefs. We are fascinated by the simultaneity of the animation of a mask and the objectification of the human body: with masks our bodies in movement generate characters that have the potential of a figure, sculpture, painting, and cartoon.
